This is likely one of my favorite designs of all time, and it had been pulling at me for a while until I let it take form. I decided that my personal blog needed a full rebrand, so I pulled my best posts from my old blog, found a cohesive theme, and decided to call it Domesticating Mom.
I formatted the logo in such a way that the hand-drawn house icon would envelop the word “domesticating,” but “mom” breaks through and out, plus incorporates a watercolor texture. I also used that same watercolor texture to add depth and interest to heading areas.
Since I have control of this brand, I was able to create a post image template as well, so all the post images are consistent in tone and styling on archive pages. This tone is also carried through on my Instagram account.
